Amazon is to open the first of its new chain of grocery stores, which serve a different market than its recent acquisition Whole Foods.
This opening, in Los Angeles in the next few weeks, comes after the announcement last period of plans for chain of fulfilment centres and stores. Amazon shares rose after the announcement, to settle near an all-time high at $3446.
