European stocks rise as confidence in US and China reach a trade deal

European shares rose on Wednesday as worries about a US-China trade war decrease. The UK FTSE rose 0.8% to 6919.42 points, while the German DAX and France's CAC40 rose to 10884.75 and 4811.18 points respectively.

This came after Asian stocks also rose in trading today as confidence increased that the US and China reached a trade deal soon.

The negotiators have not revealed any concrete results of their discussions yet, but President Trump says that "the talks with China are going well," leading to expectations that the two sides have reached a solution to some of the most contentious issues. In addition to definitions, these also include the protection of intellectual property rights and the protection of the rights of US companies trading in China.
