Mnuchin: central bankers will look at options to respond to coronavirus

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Sunday that central bank governors will consider options to respond to the rapidly spreading coronavirus as needed.

Mnuchin told reporters after a meeting of finance officials of the world's 20 largest economies that it was too early to predict the long-term impact of the spread of the deadly virus, but more would be known in three to four weeks.

"I will not comment on monetary policy, but it is clear that central bank governors will look at various options as this will have an impact on the economy," Mnuchin said.
