The governing council member, Ignazio Visco, said on Monday that the measures adopted by the European Central Bank in response to an emergency caused by the Coronavirus are sufficient and effective, but the bank is ready to do more if necessary.

"The set of measures adopted has been effective in reducing tensions, and today we believe these measures are sufficient, but we are ready to do more if necessary," said Visco, the Governor of the Bank of Italy in an interview.
