The United States sent to Iran a blunt message this week that the spread of the Coronavirus will not save it from US sanctions that stifle oil revenues and isolate its economy.
The Ministry of Health said that Iran is the Middle Eastern country most affected by the virus, with the number of deaths reaching 1,284 people, one person dies of the virus every 10 minutes, and 50 people are infected every hour.
The United States imposed new sanctions this week, which says its campaign, which is the maximum pressure to curb Iran's nuclear, missile and regional activities, is not stopping the flow of humanitarian goods.
China has called on the United States to ease sanctions on Iran on humanitarian grounds, but US officials, foreign diplomats and analysts have seen no signs of this.
