The Reserve Bank of Australia indicated in the minutes of its meeting earlier this month that there will be no rise interest rate decision until progress is made towards full employment and its target of 2% inflation.

The most significant points to emerge from the meeting were:

Current expansionary policy supports the markets.
Significant downside pressures are still facing the Australian economy.
They will remain on the current policy for as long as possible.
The economy will likely recover at a slow pace.
The continued spread of COVID-19 in some cities remains the main obstacle.
Wages and prices are still stagnating.
There has been a decline in demand for loans.
Uncertainty remains at record highs.
