Solana gains ground following World Liberty Financial approval despite geopolitical risks
Solana’s price rose by 1.91% to $75.96 amid geopolitical uncertainty and regulatory developments regarding World Liberty Financial.
According to Reuters reports, an Iranian official stated that Tehran will adopt a fully offensive military posture, given that efforts to negotiate with the United States have stalled. Conversely, US President Donald Trump stated that Iran would not agree to the deal he considers necessary to end the war, suggesting that a potential ceasefire deal remains far from being achieved. Additionally, Trump noted that he is not interested in extending the ceasefire agreement with Iran, casting further doubt on a potential diplomatic resolution.
Consequently, geopolitical instability exerts upward pressure on oil prices, which could elevate inflation levels should the conflict persist. In this context, higher energy prices increase the probability of higher interest rates from the Federal Reserve—a factor that typically weighs on the cryptocurrency market as investors pivot away from high-risk assets. Nevertheless, the CME FedWatch Tool remained unchanged, indicating that the market assigns the highest probability to the US central bank keeping its benchmark interest rate unchanged at its September meeting.
Concurrently, a Reuters report indicates that the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has granted approval to World Liberty Financial. The authorization allows the firm to issue its own stablecoins, hold customer assets, and settle payments. This development may be interpreted as positive for the cryptocurrency market, as it enhances credibility among institutional investors. However, Solana’s price remains confined within a consolidation pattern, reflecting ongoing market uncertainty.
Technical analysis of Solana
From a technical perspective, Solana has established a distinct bearish trajectory. A detailed examination of the current market structure reveals several key observations:
- Trend Context: On daily timeframes, Solana continues to trade below its 50-day, 100-day, and 200-day Simple Moving Averages (SMAs), reinforcing the prevailing bearish bias. In the short term, price action remains confined within a consolidation range, reflecting high uncertainty and an absence of clear market direction.
- Resistance Levels: Should buyers reclaim immediate resistance near $81—a level that converges with the 200-day SMA—the next major technical barrier is identified at $97. A decisive close above the $97 zone would alter the broader market structure, opening scope for a materially higher valuation.
- Support Levels: If primary support at $69 is invalidated, the next structural floor lies at the $60 level—a prominent psychological threshold. A sustained break below this threshold would likely accelerate selling pressure and heighten the risk of a deeper market correction.
- Momentum Indicators: Both the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) and the Relative Strength Index (RSI) are hovering at neutral levels, underscoring the absence of a prevailing trend. Consequently, macroeconomic and geopolitical factors are expected to remain the primary drivers of near-term price movement.
