Overvaluation risks in SpaceX

Nevertheless, while SpaceX continues to accumulate market value and command the attention of global market participants, significant overvaluation risks persist, prompting caution from analysts who believe these metrics could pose long-term challenges.

According to data provided by Yahoo Finance, the company's trailing price-to-sales (P/S) ratio stands at an elevated 130x, while its price-to-book (P/B) ratio has reached 72x. These specific valuation multiples are considerably higher than the averages observed in the broader aerospace and industrial sectors. They also exceed historical whole-market benchmarks when compared to past major IPOs where foundational valuation metrics were significantly more moderate.

Finally, a traditional price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio cannot be calculated because the corporation has yet to generate positive quarterly net income. The underlying financial statements reveal that the firm recorded a net loss of $4.94 billion in its 2025 annual fiscal report.
